WELCOME TO THE ILCA 4&6 YOUTH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026
Aarhus International Sailing Center is proud to host the ILCA 4 & 6 World Championships from 1st to 19th August 2026!
Aarhus and the sailing clubs around the Bay of Aarhus have a long tradition of delivering international, world-class events. The Olympic classes have a particularly strong connection to the city, and the coastline around Aarhus Ø has become a central hub for top-level dinghy sailing.
Competitors at the ILCA 4 & 6 World Championships 2026 can look forward to a city-close venue offering state-of-the-art facilities right on the waterfront: a spacious boat park, excellent launching via the 60-meter slipway, modern changing facilities, and everything placed just steps from the race areas.

How to get here
When arriving in Denmark there is different option on how to get to Aarhus depending on where you are coming from.
Aarhus is a mere 170 km from the German/Danish border and the tollfree E45 highway takes you to Aarhus from Kiel in less than 4 hours.
You can also fly to Aarhus Airport (AAR) which is only 30 minutes drive from Aarhus or Billund Airport (BLL) about an hour away.
From Copenhagen it is 3 hours by train to the centre of Aarhus. By car it is 3 hours. Else you can take the highspeed ferry between Sjælland and Aarhus. About 1 hour.
Training prior to the ILCA 4&6 Youth World Championships 2026
There will be opportunity for storing equipment and using the facilities prior to the event. Go to International Traning Camps.

A lot of residents close to Aarhus International Sailing Center rent out apartments on AirBnb.
Autocamper sites:
It will not be possible to book an autocamper spot close to Aarhus International Sailing Center due to space issues.
Therefore we recommend the following local harbours who offers camp sites for autocampers.
Boats slips in Aarhus Lysbådehavn:
The boat slips at Aarhus Lystbådehavn are managed by various associations. Prices and facilities depend on where your boat is located. Reservations are not possible, and we do not provide information about available spaces.
